1 What is the event ? The event is a gathering of Amateur Radio enthusiasts. There will be a large number of traders who supply Amateur Radio, electronics & home computer equipment, giving visitors the opportunity to view the latest communications technology before buying at competitive prices.
2 When is it being held ? Sunday 16th June 2019, from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
3 Where is it being held ? In the Somerset town of Frome. This is about 4 miles from the site of the former Longleat Rally. Frome is a picturesque old town and there are many interesting shops & pubs nearby.
4 What is the venue ? The venue is the 'Cheese & Grain', Bridge Street, Frome, Somerset, BA11 1BE. The venue features a permanent hall used for exhibitions, markets and concerts. Furthermore, we have secured a large, hard surfaced area next to the building for use by outside Traders ( not car boot sales though ).
5 Who is promoting this event ? The Severnside Television Group. This is an RSGB & BATC affiliated Group, based in Bristol and established in 1986. It runs the GB3ZZ & GB3XG ATV Repeaters. The Group is a non-profit making association of Radio Amateurs and any surplus made by the Rally will be applied to Group funds to further develop our Repeaters and other activities.
6 How much will it cost to get in ? Visitors and trade exhibitors will have to pay to get in. Entrance charges £3.00. Accompanied Juniors under 14 are free.
7 What about facilities for the disabled ? We are pleased that the venue has good facilities for the disabled ; The venue features a permanent access ramp at the main entrance. There is a dedicated disabled toilet off the entrance foyer.
The floor within the hall is level, but there is a short set of steps between the hall and the outside trading area. There is an alternative level access route, which will be available upon request to a steward. see page on disabled Facilities.

8 What happened to the Longleat Rally ? The last Longleat Rally was held in 2002, after a continuous run of 45 years.
In 2002, the Longleat Estate Office decided that they no longer wished to host the radio rally. The rally was organised by the RSGB City of Bristol Group. In 2003, this group decided that they would no longer organise a rally.

9 Who is the Rally Manager ? Shaun O'Sullivan G8VPG, who has been a licensed Radio Amateur since 1980. For 11 years ( 1987-97 ) he was Rally Manager for the nearby former Longleat rally.
